The 80/20 rule lists

February 2, 2026 #notes

A lot of tasks can be done well by just learning that one important aspect of the task that's responsible for 80% of the outcome and doing it really well.

And a lot of things you did by winging it can actually be vastly improved by just googling the proper way that tons of people already optimized. One good example of this is the first time I googled how to peel egg faster. Rolling the egg and making cracks all over the egg won't come into my mind on my own. My original approach was just peeling egg normally. Any my best idea was just slashing the egg and scooping it. But a quick google search just improved my egg peeling efficiency. Often times you'd be surprised how inefficient the method you first thought of is.

Anyway so i had this idea, before doing any tasks that are new to me (or not). Why not do a quick search on how to do it? and find the best way to do it. Often, you won't have enough time to learn the best way to do it. But you can find that one most important skill that can be learned in an hour to achieve 80% of the outcome.

The goal of this note is the write down these important skills/guide I will try to identify after googling when I need to do a new task.
